Position Overview

The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and governance matters in alignment with overall corporate strategy. This role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while providing strategic legal advice to senior management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)

Master's degree in Law (preferred)

Certified Legal Professional (CLP) certification (preferred)

Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (mandatory)

Experience Requirements

12-15 years of experience in commercial/legislative law

Experience must be from one or more of the following:

Publicly listed company

Financial institution

International organization

Established governmental authority (local or federal)

Extensive working experience in the UAE

Strong understanding of UAE market and regulations

Board of Directors Secretariat experience (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all legal affairs of the company

Ensure regulatory compliance across all operations

Handle corporate governance matters

Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with corporate objectives

Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management

Oversee regulatory compliance and risk management

Manage legal documentation and contracts

Liaison with regulatory authorities

Ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations

Required Skills

Strong leadership and management capabilities

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Superior verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English

In-depth knowledge of UAE legal framework and regulations

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities

Additional Information

Direct reporting to senior management

Role involves interaction with board members and senior stakeholders

Position requires strong understanding of corporate governance

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
