About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance risks and determining appropriate premium rates for general insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

Assess insurance applications and evaluate risks based on multiple factors including financial data, historical records, and industry standards

Determine appropriate premium rates and coverage terms for insurance policies

Review and analyze technical reports, medical documents, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions

Develop and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and agents

Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements

Prepare detailed reports and documentation for policy recommendations

Collaborate with claims department to understand loss patterns and adjust underwriting strategies

Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to the development of underwriting strategies

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in general insurance underwriting

Valid UAE insurance certification or relevant professional qualifications

Strong knowledge of insurance products, industry regulations, and market trends

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

Strong communication and negotiation abilities

Proficiency in MS Office and insurance-specific software

Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
