Role Overview – SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences is hiring a Front Desk Agent for a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for customer-focused hospitality professionals with strong guest service skills, communication abilities, and experience managing check-in/check-out processes, reservations, and guest relations within a luxury hotel environment.
Guest Check-In and Check-Out – You will manage guest check-in and check-out processes by welcoming guests warmly and professionally, verifying reservations and guest information, registering guests in the property management system, assigning rooms based on preferences and availability, issuing room keys, explaining hotel facilities and services, processing check-outs, settling guest accounts, and ensuring smooth, efficient arrival and departure experiences.
Reservations Management and Coordination – You will manage reservations and coordination by processing room reservations via phone, email, and walk-ins, confirming booking details, modifying and canceling reservations, managing room inventory and availability, coordinating group reservations, handling special requests, and ensuring accurate reservation records in the PMS.
Guest Services and Assistance – You will provide exceptional guest services and assistance by responding to guest inquiries and requests, providing information about hotel facilities, restaurants, spa, and amenities, offering recommendations for local attractions and dining, coordinating transportation and tours, handling wake-up calls, managing mail and messages, and ensuring personalized, attentive service throughout guest stays.
Front Desk Operations and Administration – You will manage front desk operations by maintaining organized reception areas, handling administrative tasks, preparing daily reports (arrivals, departures, occupancy), managing shift handovers, coordinating with housekeeping on room status, monitoring room availability, and ensuring efficient front desk workflows.
Payment Processing and Cash Handling – You will process payments and handle cash by managing guest payments for room charges, incidentals, and services, processing credit card transactions, collecting deposits, handling cash transactions securely, balancing cash drawers, preparing cashier reports, reconciling daily transactions, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Property Management System (PMS) Operations – You will operate the property management system (Opera PMS or similar hotel systems) by creating and managing reservations, updating guest profiles, posting charges, generating folios and invoices, processing room moves and upgrades, managing room inventory, and ensuring accurate data entry and system maintenance.
Guest Relations and Problem Resolution – You will manage guest relations and resolve problems by addressing guest complaints and concerns professionally, investigating issues, coordinating with relevant departments (housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) to resolve problems, implementing service recovery, ensuring guest satisfaction, and turning challenges into positive experiences.
VIP and Special Guest Handling – You will handle VIP and special guest services by identifying VIP arrivals, coordinating special amenities and room preparations, providing personalized welcome experiences, managing special requests and preferences, coordinating with guest relations and management on VIP services, and ensuring exceptional experiences for high-value and returning guests.
Upselling and Revenue Optimization – You will support upselling and revenue optimization by promoting room upgrades, spa services, dining experiences, and hotel amenities, identifying upselling opportunities during check-in, presenting upgrade options professionally, contributing to revenue generation, and maximizing room revenue and guest spend.
