Finance Officer

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer to work closely with the Executive Director Business Operations (EDBO) in managing the organization's day-to-day financial operations. This role combines bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support for the Retail Manager and EDBO, aligned with MAC Inc's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records using Reckon, including accounts payable and receivable

Perform bank account reconciliations, petty cash management, and daily takings reconciliation

Support administrative functions including meeting minutes, customer data management, and financial reporting

Monitor and maintain license subscriptions and asset register

Assist with shared front of house and office duties

Contribute to budget preparation and statistical reporting

Required Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent bookkeeping experience

Demonstrated proficiency in cloud-based accounting software (Reckon/QuickBooks)

Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365, particularly Excel

Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting procedures

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Current Clean "C" Class Driver's License

National Police Clearance

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven experience in stakeholder management and customer service

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Experience with POS systems (Shopify) and cloud-based software

Working Conditions

12-month contract with possibility of extension or permanent position

Work location split between Mundaring Arts Centre and Midland Junction Arts Centre

Must be available for weekend and after-hours work as required

Independent travel between venues required

Formed in 1979 by a group of dedicated volunteers passionate about providing a focus for arts and culture in the Perth hills, Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC) has remained true to its origins.

Over the years, the MAC staff, volunteers and artists have delivered a diverse range of creative arts experiences, annually engaging thousands of individuals of all interests and ages.

MAC’s two venues (Mundaring and Midland Junction Arts Centre) feature new exhibitions bi-monthly and showcase the cultural offerings of exceptional local artists and craftspeople. MAC also presents a range of community projects, workshops and cultural events at the arts centres, local schools and in the wider hills community.

A not-for-profit community arts organisation, MAC is run by a volunteer management committee, dedicated professional staff and a large group of passionate volunteers. MAC provides arts leadership, advocacy for West Australian artists and cultural advisory services for individuals and organisations.
