About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and creative Exhibitions and Programme Manager to lead our ambitious exhibitions programme and coordinate engaging events across our sites. This key position involves managing ten temporary exhibitions annually across three sites while overseeing a comprehensive engagement programme throughout Somerset and Devon.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions across Trust and partner Museums, working closely with the Trust Design Team
Lead the development and administration of dynamic public events across Trust locations
Align exhibitions and events with the Trust's Audience Engagement strategy and Business Delivery Plan
Analyze and utilize audience feedback and data to enhance programming and engagement
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Support marketing initiatives and fundraising activities for exhibitions and events
Contribute to the Trust's mission of bringing great art to Somerset and sharing important heritage stories
Manage complex budgets and project timelines effectively
Required Qualifications and Experience
Proven track record in directing, curating, and delivering exhibitions
Extensive experience in coordinating complex engagement programmes
Strong background in fine and visual arts
Demonstrated success in project management
Experience managing substantial budgets
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
Demonstrable knowledge of visual arts sector

Operating across six main sites, we deliver a wide range of heritage experiences for people of all ages. We work with many local and strategic partners, including Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
