Job Purpose:

The Engineer, Mechanical Projects, is responsible for the planning, prioritization, execution, and monitoring of Pre-Projects within QAFCO. This role involves ensuring that all activities align with QAFCO procedures and specifications while contributing to the company’s goals and objectives. The engineer will perform root cause analysis, engineering calculations, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of projects.

Key Accountabilities:

Project Planning & Coordination: Lead and support project teams, ensuring the execution of project activities to meet set objectives. Overcome challenges through effective liaison with stakeholders.

Engineering Work: Conduct engineering work for Pre-Projects, including root cause analysis, detailed specification of equipment, and performing engineering calculations using appropriate software, in line with relevant codes and standards.

Deliverables: Ensure the delivery of optimal technical solutions and quality deliverables within the set schedule and cost. Adhere to Project Execution Guidelines, QAFCO Engineering Specifications, and Procedures.

Technological Updates: Stay informed about technological advancements in the field to recommend opportunities for increased effectiveness and cost reduction.

Technical Support: Provide technical support across multiple projects and operations, ensuring quality work within the required schedule.

Leadership & Mentorship: Assign tasks and mentor contract resources to ensure compliance with QAFCO requirements. Assist in training new and trainee Engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, IEC, BS, EN, etc.) and their application.

Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Rotating/Package Mechanical Engineer, preferably in projects related to petrochemical and/or ammonia/urea manufacturing plants.

Skills: Proficiency in developing datasheets, reviewing engineering documents, and handling the procurement and installation of rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, and packaged equipment. Experience in mechanical package design and supply is an additional value.
