Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector for a 2-month project at Gewan Island. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical inspection services within building construction projects, specifically with consulting firms. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of Qatar building codes and electrical standards.

Essential Requirements

Valid Qatar ID (QID) with free visa status

Minimum 10 years of experience in building electrical inspection with consultant companies

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Qatar Engineering Registration valid license

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications

Experience with Qatar/GCC building codes and standards

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Control

Conduct detailed electrical inspections of building systems and installations

Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes

Inspect electrical equipment installation, including:

Distribution panels

Transformers

Switchgear

Lighting systems

Power outlets

Emergency power systems

Building automation systems

Review and approve electrical installation methods and materials

Identify non-conforming work and issue correction notices

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed inspection reports

Document all electrical deficiencies and violations

Review electrical contractors' submittals and shop drawings

Maintain daily inspection logs

Create punch lists for incomplete or deficient work

Sign off on completed electrical installations

Review and verify as-built documentation

Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project managers

Attend project meetings and site walks

Provide technical guidance to electrical contractors

Liaise with other inspection disciplines (mechanical, civil, etc.)

Communicate effectively with project stakeholders

Report critical issues to project management

Required Skills & Competencies

Expert knowledge of electrical systems in building construction

Thorough understanding of Qatar Construction Standards (QCS)

Familiarity with international electrical codes (IEC, BS, NFPA)

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills in English

Proficiency in MS Office and electrical design software

Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings

Experience with high-end residential and commercial projects

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in various weather conditions

Capable of climbing ladders and accessing confined spaces

Physical stamina for extended periods of site inspection

Ability to work at heights when required

Working Conditions

Site-based position at Gewan Island

6 days per week working schedule

Regular site walks and inspections

Outdoor work in various weather conditions
