About the Role:

MACK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Editor to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented professional with a passion for publishing and a strong background in editing and commissioning across text, image, or other media. As an Editor, you will manage a diverse range of titles, collaborating closely with artists, writers, and the wider editorial and production team to bring innovative projects to life. If you have a keen editorial eye, a deep understanding of visual arts, critical theory, architecture, cinema, or photography, and a drive to contribute to a growing publishing list, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Project-manage titles from conception to release, coordinating with artists, writers, designers, and external partners.

Develop and expand the publishing list by seeking out new projects and building relationships within relevant fields.

Copy-edit, proofread, and provide manuscript feedback for text-led and image-based publications.

Manage budgets, contracts, and schedules for complex projects within a fast-paced environment.

Collaborate with sales, accounts, and communications teams to ensure the success of each title.

Organize and participate in events, launches, and promotional activities.

Stay informed about MACK’s position within the wider publishing landscape and contribute to its growth.

Requirements:

Substantial experience in editing, commissioning, or project management within publishing or a related field.

A strong editorial eye for language, style, grammar, and spelling.

Deep knowledge of visual arts, critical theory, architecture, cinema, or photography.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with artists, writers, and collaborators.

A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly.
