Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Credit Specialist to join our banking team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing credit proposals, assessing risks, and making sound credit decisions while maintaining high standards of financial prudence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
2-3 years of banking experience in a supervisory capacity in Assets business
Strong understanding of Personal Banking assets business
Proven track record in credit analysis and risk assessment
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate credit applications and proposals
Conduct thorough credit risk assessments of potential borrowers
Review and verify financial documentation and credit histories
Prepare and present detailed credit proposals
Monitor existing credit facilities and perform regular reviews
Identify potential fraud risks and implement preventive measures
Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements
Supervise and mentor junior credit team members
Maintain accurate documentation of credit decisions and rationale
Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth credit operations
Identify and escalate high-risk credit issues
Contribute to the development of credit policies and procedures
