/Underwriter - Cards and Loans

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Credit Analyst/Underwriter to join one of the UAE's leading banks. The role focuses on conducting credit appraisals and underwriting for retail banking products while ensuring compliance with bank policies and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive credit appraisals for retail banking products including:

Personal Loans

Rent Loans

Auto Loans

Credit Cards

Overdrafts

Credit Limit Increase requests

Evaluate and underwrite credit applications according to approved credit policies

Process high-value transactions and handle policy deviations as per bank's delegation matrix

Take end-to-end ownership of applications to ensure customer satisfaction

Maintain quality standards with minimal error rates

Work within assigned Delegation of Authority

Analyze financial data and assess credit risk

Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

3-5 years of proven underwriting experience in credit-related work

Strong background in retail banking credit assessment

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

Proficiency in business software applications, particularly spreadsheets

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or related field

Knowledge of UAE banking regulations and credit policies

Technical Skills

Advanced Excel skills

Experience with banking and credit analysis software

Strong mathematical and statistical analysis abilities

Understanding of risk assessment methodologies

Knowledge of credit scoring systems
