Joud Coffee is seeking a meticulous and analytical Cost Controller to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing all costs related to food, beverages, supplies, and other operational expenses, and providing accurate financial data to support informed decision-making.

Essential Duties:

Cost Monitoring and Analysis:

Monitor and analyze all costs related to food, beverages, supplies, and other operational expenses.

Identify areas of cost overruns or inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Reporting:

Prepare regular cost reports, including cost and inventory variance analysis and comparisons against budgeted targets.

Provide accurate and timely financial data to management for informed decision-making.

Inventory Control:

Develop and implement inventory control procedures to track and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize stock discrepancies.

Coordinate with kitchen and procurement teams to optimize stock rotation and minimize wastage.

Cost Reduction:

Monitor wastage levels to find the reason and reduce the same.

Recommend and implement measures to reduce food and beverage costs, such as portion control and recipe standardization and SOPs.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary expenses.

Supplier Management:

Monitor pricing and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive rates and quality products.

Liaise with the procurement team to evaluate supplier contracts and negotiate favorable terms.

Financial Performance:

Track actual financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions.

Provide input and financial insights into menu pricing decisions, including menu engineering and analysis.

Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Collaborate with the operations team to analyze sales data and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Training and Education:

Train and educate staff on cost control procedures and best practices.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the same field.

Thorough knowledge of cost accounting procedures.

In-depth understanding of food and beverage operations and cost controlling in the F&B industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hotel/Hospitality Management.

Professional certification such as CMA/ICWA preferred.

Willingness to work flexible schedules.

Awareness of business trends.

Familiarity with financial accounting statements.

Experience with the month-end/year-end closing process.

Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Microsoft Dynamics.

Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.

Accuracy and attention to detail.

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.

Salary:

AED 7,000 to 9,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
