Position Overview: Ramah General Contracting is urgently hiring a skilled Cost Control Engineer with a strong civil infrastructure background. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting with project budgeting, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure financial efficiency and adherence to approved budgets. This role requires precision, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining cost discipline across all stages of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities: The Cost Control Engineer will assist in the preparation of project budgets, estimates, and cash flows while tracking actual costs against planned budgets. The role involves monitoring variances, analyzing financial data, and maintaining accurate cost records. The candidate will support coordination between departments like Procurement, Planning, and Engineering to collect and verify cost data for timely reporting.
Data Management and Reporting: The engineer will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date cost documentation. They will prepare periodic cost reports and forecasts for both internal management and external stakeholders, helping identify deviations and areas for optimization. Coordination with quantity surveyors will be crucial for validating quantities and actual costs of work completed.
Compliance and Control: The candidate must ensure strict compliance with company financial procedures, project cost codes, and approved budgets. They will support the preparation of change orders, assist in identifying potential cost overruns, and recommend corrective measures to ensure the project remains financially on track.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, while familiarity with software tools like Primavera, Candy, or SAP will be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong numerical, analytical, and data interpretation skills, ensuring that cost management processes align with company objectives and industry best practices.
Professional Skills: The position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual capable of handling large data sets with accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to coordinate effectively across multiple departments. The candidate should be proactive, capable of working under pressure, and committed to meeting tight deadlines.
Preferred Background: Candidates with prior experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects will be preferred. Knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract terms and an understanding of project budgeting, cost forecasting, and cost variance analysis are key attributes that will help the candidate excel in this role.
