Construction Manager

Job Description

Role Overview – OHDC is hiring an experienced Construction Manager to oversee construction operations, manage site activities, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This leadership position requires strong technical knowledge and excellent management skills.

Site Management – You will manage all on-site construction activities, supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, and ensure work is executed according to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Daily site inspections and coordination will be essential.

Quality and Safety – Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure construction work meets required standards and specifications. Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site, conducting safety audits, and promoting a safety-first culture.

Budget and Schedule Control – Managing construction budgets, tracking costs, and controlling expenses to prevent overruns. Coordinating with planning engineers to ensure construction activities align with project schedules and taking corrective actions when delays occur.

Team Leadership – Leading and motivating construction teams, resolving conflicts, and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders. Conducting regular site meetings, providing guidance to supervisors and workers, and maintaining high team morale and productivity.

Stakeholder Coordination – Liaising with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution. Managing change orders, addressing site issues promptly, and maintaining detailed documentation of construction activities.

Technical Expertise – Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately to guide construction execution effectively.
