Job Description

Fletcher Piccolo Associates (FPA) is a tier-one main contractor renowned for its work across Europe, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The company specializes in large-scale fit-out and finishing projects and is seeking a seasoned Commercial Manager to join their team in Dubai. This role is pivotal, not only in overseeing the commercial aspects of projects but also in leading the existing Quantity Surveying (QS) team, ensuring the successful financial management of the company's projects.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage the QS team, providing direction, support, and professional development. Ensure the team is effectively handling all commercial aspects of the projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize profitability and manage project risks. Work closely with the Commercial Director to align strategies with overall company goals.

Contract Management: Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that the company's interests are protected.

Cost Control and Financial Management: Establish and maintain robust cost control systems. Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and manage cash flow.

Project Oversight: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Review and approve project estimates, budgets, and schedules.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle. Develop contingency plans and strategies to address potential issues that may impact project delivery or profitability.

Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and regular updates on project status. Address client concerns and negotiate changes or variations to project scope and terms.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Uphold the company's ethical standards and ensure all team members adhere to these principles.

Requirements

Education: Ideally, candidates should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management, with a strong focus on fit-out and finishing projects. Experience with a recognized design and engineering consultancy or main contractor is preferred.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in commercial management software, contract law, and construction methodologies.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data and make informed decisions.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from AED 40,000 to 45,000 per month, inclusive of fixed allowances. The successful candidate will also receive a benefits package that includes medical insurance, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
