Position Overview

The CMAT Lead will be responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of the Annual Compliance Monitoring and Assurance Testing Plan (CMAT). This role is crucial in enhancing the bank's compliance culture and contributing to Compliance Risk Assessments for the development of the annual Compliance Assurance Plan.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Methodology

Develop risk-based Annual CMAT Plan for UAE, IBG & Subsidiaries based on Compliance Controls Library/Universe

Lead the annual review and update of CMAT Methodology

Design and maintain Working Programs and CMAT templates including:

Announcements

Request for Information (RFIs)

Testing Sheets

Draft and Final Reports

Team Leadership and Execution

Provide management and oversight of the CMAT Team

Oversee end-to-end execution of CMAT Reviews

Coordinate and ensure timely delivery of quarterly CMAT Reports

Monitor and track closure of identified issues through the bank's GRC system

Deliver CMAT Role-Based training to team members

Quality Assurance and Reporting

Ensure comprehensive documentation of compliance breaches

Conduct analysis of CMAT data to inform business decisions

Develop and implement action plans for identified issues

Coordinate with stakeholders for satisfactory closure of findings

Provide regular updates to senior management on CMAT activities

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management Sciences, Risk Management, or related field

Minimum 5 years' experience in Auditing, Assurance, Testing activities, and Independent Reports writing

Proven track record in compliance monitoring or similar oversight role

Technical Knowledge

In-depth understanding of Compliance Programs and Policies & Procedures

Strong knowledge of:

Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations

Sanctions compliance

Regulatory Notices and requirements

Proficiency in MIS reporting and Microsoft Office suite

Understanding of GRC systems and compliance tools

Skills and Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Leadership and team management capabilities

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Project management and time management skills

Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)

Working Conditions

Full-time position based in Abu Dhabi

May require occasional travel within UAE

Regular interaction with various stakeholders across the organization
