About Us

Founded by Jack Neary AM OBE, Mary Lopez AM and Bruce Harris, TDP initially had its home in the Sydney Entertainment Centre where the NSW Schools Spectacular had been held since 1984.

In 1991, the Talent Development Project was created to professionally develop the talent of the Spectacular’s principal performers. This success is based on TDP’s direct access to the music and entertainment industry. TDP involves a tight network of consultants that work professionally across a range of creative fields, and these consultants guide and mentor students on their journey to creating a sustainable career in the performing arts.

TDP remains a full time supporter of its graduates, providing opportunities, scholarships, grants, and an extensive international network of professional musicians.
