About the Role:

MEC Emirates is urgently seeking an experienced Chief Accountant (Accounts Payables) to join a leading contracting company in Abu Dhabi. This is a critical role for a finance professional with a strong background in accounts payable management and extensive experience in the contracting industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and leading teams in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, including reconciliations and cash flow statements.

Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Ensure compliance with government regulations, taxation requirements, and liaise with auditors during audits.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Manage and optimize ERP systems and other financial tools for efficient operations.

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a contracting company within the UAE.

Strong expertise in accounts payable management and financial reporting.

In-depth knowledge of UAE government regulations, taxation, and auditing standards.

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial software.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates must be currently residing in the UAE.
