Duties & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a specific focus on the UAE market. This role requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to create detailed financial plans, budgets, and cash flows.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage annual budgets, including operating and capital budgets.
Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure proper documentation.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
Prepare financial models and perform scenario analysis.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Internal Controls:
Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and address any deficiencies.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure financial integrity.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing requirements.
Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Qualifications:
CA Article completed or CA Inter, or B.Com Plus ACCA.
Minimum of 3 years of UAE experience is mandatory.
Proficiency in using accounting software.
Experience in creating projected financial plans, budgets, and cash flows.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred experience with property developers.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
