Job Description

Position Overview: The Catering Logistics Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics operations of the catering department, ensuring that all catering events and deliveries are executed smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule. This position requires an individual with excellent planning, coordination, and multitasking skills to handle multiple catering assignments simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities: The Catering Logistics Officer will oversee the movement of food, equipment, and staff between the central kitchen and event sites. They will manage the scheduling of delivery vehicles, loading and unloading operations, and coordination with on-site supervisors. The officer will ensure that all catering materials reach their destination in proper condition, maintaining service quality and timeliness.

Operational Coordination: The officer will act as a central point of communication between the operations, kitchen, and transport teams. They will monitor daily logistics schedules, track vehicle movements, and ensure compliance with delivery timelines. The officer will also handle last-minute changes, client requests, and emergency logistics needs with professionalism and efficiency.

Inventory and Resource Management: This role includes ensuring that all catering tools, serving equipment, and consumables are properly managed and tracked. The officer will prepare accurate documentation for outgoing and returned items, monitor inventory usage, and work with the storekeeper to prevent shortages or losses. Maintaining a balance between efficiency and cost control will be a key responsibility.

Health, Safety, and Compliance: The Catering Logistics Officer must ensure that all logistics operations comply with health, safety, and food handling standards. They will oversee the cleanliness and organization of loading areas and vehicles, ensure proper temperature maintenance during food transportation, and enforce adherence to company safety policies and UAE regulatory requirements.

Skills and Competencies: The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The role demands expertise in logistics coordination, route planning, and time management. Candidates with prior experience in the catering, food service, or hospitality industries will be highly preferred. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
