Role Overview – Sailog Maritime LLC is expanding our team and seeking experienced professionals in the Shipping & Logistics industry. We have openings for Business Development Manager position for candidates who have the passion to grow, lead, and make an impact in the maritime and logistics sector.
Business Development Strategy – You will develop and implement business development strategies for maritime and logistics services, identify growth opportunities in shipping markets, analyze industry trends, assess market potential, define target customer segments, create market entry plans, set business development objectives, and drive strategic initiatives that expand the company's market presence and revenue.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management – You will identify and acquire new clients including shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers, exporters, and logistics companies. You will build strong client relationships, understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, negotiate contracts and rates, close deals, and develop long-term partnerships that generate sustainable business growth.
Market Research and Analysis – You will conduct market research to identify opportunities in maritime and logistics sectors, analyze competitor activities, assess market dynamics, track industry developments, identify emerging trends, evaluate customer requirements, gather market intelligence, and provide insights that inform business development strategies and competitive positioning.
Sales Target Achievement – You will achieve business development targets and revenue goals, generate new business from prospective clients, expand business with existing accounts, meet sales quotas, track performance metrics, forecast revenue, implement action plans to achieve targets, and demonstrate consistent results in business acquisition and revenue generation.
Service Portfolio Development – You will promote Sailog Maritime's complete service portfolio including freight forwarding, customs clearance, shipping agency services, logistics solutions, warehousing, transportation, and other maritime services. You will understand service capabilities, position services competitively, bundle offerings effectively, and maximize revenue across service lines.
Proposal and Contract Management – You will prepare business proposals and quotations, develop compelling presentations, customize offerings based on client needs, negotiate commercial terms, finalize contracts, ensure favorable terms for the company, coordinate with operations on service delivery, and manage contractual relationships throughout engagement lifecycle.
Industry Networking and Representation – You will represent Sailog Maritime at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking forums. You will build professional networks, establish strategic partnerships, enhance company visibility, promote brand reputation, engage with industry stakeholders, and position the company as a preferred maritime and logistics partner.
Cross-Functional Coordination – You will coordinate with operations, pricing, documentation, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery, communicate client requirements internally, align business development with operational capabilities, facilitate smooth account transitions, and ensure client satisfaction supports business retention and growth.
Performance Reporting – You will prepare business development reports including sales pipeline, revenue forecasts, market analysis, competitor intelligence, client feedback, and business development activities. You will present reports to management, provide strategic recommendations, track KPIs, and support data-driven decision-making.
