Job Description

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is seeking an experienced Associate Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Contract Services) to join our Riyadh office. This role involves leading projects and overseeing the effective delivery of cost and commercial management services with a focus on pre-contract cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Planning & Estimation:

Establish the structure and format of cost plans/estimates.

Produce cost plans/estimates throughout different design stages in accordance with NRM1 (concept design), NRM2 (detailed design), and CESMM (Infrastructure works).

Evaluate design options and alternatives.

Cost Management:

Monitor the cost implications of design stages and track against the budget.

Reconcile variance at each design stage and report on reasons for variance.

Manage value engineering exercises and advise on cost implications.

Tender Management:

Prepare and agree on the structure of tender documents.

Manage a competitive tender process including handling tender queries.

Conduct and document structured tender evaluations.

Procurement & Contract Advice:

Provide advice on procurement strategies.

Prepare contract documents and offer advice on contract conditions.

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage teams, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

Minimum of 10 years of experience post-degree qualification.

Proficiency in cost management software, particularly RLB’s Ross 5D.

Excellent working knowledge of NRM1 and NRM2.

Skills & Attributes:
