Job Overview:

The Assistant Risk Manager at Qatar Project Management (QPM) will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the corporate risk management framework in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of risk management principles and the ability to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization. The Assistant Risk Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure that risk management practices are integrated into daily operations and that the company is well-prepared to address any emerging risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Corporate Risk Management Framework:

Create and update the risk management framework and related policies to ensure compliance with the company’s strategy and plans.

Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs):

Develop tools and systems for RCSA and KRIs. Collect and analyze data to calculate key risks using standardized methodologies.

Risk Monitoring & Mitigation:

Design and implement risk monitoring plans to proactively address risks. Prioritize issues based on the level of exposure and develop recommendations for corrective actions.

Collaboration with Departments:

Work with various departments to collate and analyze risk registers. Prepare reports for senior management highlighting areas needing intervention.

Emerging Risk Trends:

Identify and assess emerging risk trends both within the company’s operations and in the broader marketplace. Implement appropriate risk management and mitigation strategies.

Business Continuity Management (BCM):

Assist in developing and implementing business continuity management plans to ensure critical business functions continue without disruption. Work with the IT team to align disaster recovery plans with overall risk management strategies.

Insurance Strategy:

Support the Manager - Business Transformation in developing the corporate asset insurance strategy.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for improving risk management systems and processes. Ensure practices are in line with international best practices, aiming for cost reduction and productivity enhancement.

Reporting:

Prepare and submit reports on the performance of the risk management framework and related initiatives for review by the Manager - Business Transformation.

Additional Duties:

Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager - Business Transformation.

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, General Management, Risk Management, or a related discipline is required.

A Master’s Degree in Risk Management, Business Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience:

At least 10 years of relevant experience in Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, or a related field.

Previous experience in the Real Estate industry is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in risk management software and tools.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior management.
