Assistant Accountant

Job Description

 Role Overview – Altivon is looking for an Assistant Accountant with minimum 3 years of UAE experience. This position is ideal for accounting professionals with hands-on experience in Zoho Accounting Software who can handle accounts independently, possess good knowledge of UAE accounting practices and VAT rules, and are available for immediate joining.

Day-to-Day Accounting Operations – You will handle day-to-day accounting operations including processing transactions, recording journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining general ledger accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial activities. Your daily accounting work provides the foundation for reliable financial reporting and business decision-making.

Reconciliations – You will perform regular reconciliations including bank reconciliations, supplier statement reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and account balance verifications. Your reconciliation work ensures accuracy of financial records, identifies discrepancies early, and maintains the integrity of financial data.

Financial Reporting – You will prepare financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management reports that provide visibility into business performance. Your reporting supports management decision-making and ensures stakeholders have timely access to accurate financial information.

VAT Compliance and Reporting – You will manage VAT-related accounting including recording VAT on transactions, maintaining VAT records, preparing VAT returns, reconciling VAT accounts, and ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations. Your VAT knowledge ensures the organization meets all tax obligations accurately and on time.

Zoho Accounting Management – You will utilize Zoho Accounting Software for all accounting operations, leveraging the system's capabilities for transaction recording, reporting, reconciliation, and financial management. Your hands-on Zoho experience enables efficient accounting processes and accurate financial data management.

Independent Account Management – You will handle accounts independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating ownership of accounting responsibilities, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage the complete accounting cycle without constant guidance. Your independence allows you to contribute effectively while managing your workload efficiently.

Document Management – You will maintain organized accounting documentation including invoices, receipts, contracts, payment records, and supporting documents that substantiate financial transactions and ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

UAE Accounting Experience – Minimum 3 years of UAE accounting experience is mandatory. Your UAE experience ensures familiarity with local business practices, regulatory requirements, commercial customs, and the specific accounting considerations relevant to operating in the United Arab Emirates.

Zoho Accounting Proficiency – Hands-on experience with Zoho Accounting Software is required. You must be proficient in using Zoho for transaction processing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and leveraging the platform's features to manage accounting operations efficiently.

Independent Work Capability – The ability to handle accounts independently is essential. You should be self-sufficient, capable of managing the accounting function with limited supervision, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, and able to take ownership of accounting responsibilities.

UAE Accounting Knowledge – Good knowledge of UAE accounting practices, standards, regulations, and business customs is required. Understanding the local accounting environment enables you to maintain compliant, accurate records that reflect UAE business realities.

VAT Expertise – Good knowledge of UAE VAT rules including VAT treatment of transactions, return preparation, record-keeping requirements, and compliance obligations is essential. Your VAT expertise ensures the organization manages tax responsibilities correctly.
