Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing invoicing and collection processes, with a strong background in the Qatar market.

Key Responsibilities

Invoicing Management

Generate and process customer invoices accurately and timely

Verify invoice details and supporting documentation

Maintain billing schedules and ensure timely invoice distribution

Handle invoice queries and discrepancies

Process credit notes when required

Collections Management

Implement and maintain effective collection strategies

Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts

Negotiate payment terms with clients when necessary

Maintain strong relationships with customers while ensuring timely payments

Prepare and send monthly statements to customers

Account Maintenance

Reconcile customer accounts regularly

Post and allocate customer payments accurately

Maintain customer files and documentation

Update customer credit records and payment histories

Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly AR aging reports

Generate collection performance reports

Analyze payment trends and customer payment behavior

Provide insights for improving collection efficiency

Prepare monthly closing reports

System & Process Management

Maintain accurate records in the accounting system

Suggest and implement process improvements

Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations

Coordinate with other departments for resolution of customer queries

Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3-5 years of accounts receivable experience in Qatar

Strong knowledge of Qatar's accounting practices and regulations

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Required Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong organizational and time management skills

Professional approach to customer service

Preferred Qualifications

Professional accounting certification (CMA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Experience with ERP systems

Knowledge of Qatar Commercial Law

Experience in industrial sector accounting
