Job Description

Position Overview: The Accounts Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the finance department with day-to-day accounting and administrative operations. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about maintaining financial accuracy. The successful candidate will assist in managing accounts, invoices, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities: The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The role also includes preparing financial statements, assisting in bank reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The candidate will be expected to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve any accounting discrepancies.

Financial Data Management: This role requires maintaining precise financial records and ensuring data accuracy in accounting systems. The Accounts Assistant will assist in verifying bills, receipts, and purchase orders while organizing and documenting all financial transactions. They will also support audits by providing accurate records and reconciliations as required by the finance manager.

Reporting and Analysis: The candidate will contribute to preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. They will analyze expenses and revenues to ensure proper budgeting and cost control. The role involves identifying process improvements and supporting the finance team in streamlining operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Team Collaboration: As part of a dynamic finance team, the Accounts Assistant will work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. They will provide assistance in financial queries, coordinate with procurement for supplier payments, and support management in financial planning and analysis.

Skills and Competencies: The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent numerical accuracy, and proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Tally. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential. The ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and attention to detail will be highly valued.
