Job Description

Role Overview – Crescite Beauty is seeking an experienced Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of UAE accounting experience, preferably in the retail industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to manage comprehensive accounting operations, ensure financial compliance, and contribute to the financial health of a growing beauty retail business.

Books of Accounts Management – You will maintain accurate books of accounts and comprehensive financial records for the company. Recording all financial transactions systematically, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining organized accounting records in accordance with UAE accounting standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Managing the general ledger, journal entries, and reconciling accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.

Accounts Payable and Receivable – Handling accounts payable operations including processing supplier invoices, managing payment schedules, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. Managing accounts receivable by tracking customer payments, following up on outstanding invoices, and maintaining aging reports. Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Inventory and COGS Management – Managing inventory accounting, tracking stock levels, and calculating Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accurately for retail operations. Verifying supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure correct pricing, quantities, and product specifications. Conducting regular inventory reconciliations between physical stock counts and accounting records to identify and investigate variances.

VAT Calculations and Compliance – Handling VAT calculations, filing, and compliance as per UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations. Preparing and submitting VAT returns within statutory deadlines, maintaining VAT records, and ensuring all transactions are properly classified for VAT purposes. Understanding of standard-rated, zero-rated, and exempt supplies. Keeping updated with UAE VAT law changes and ensuring company compliance with all tax regulations.

Financial Reporting – Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Creating management reports that provide insights into business performance, profitability analysis, and financial trends. Presenting financial information in clear formats that support management decision-making and strategic planning.

Monthly Audits – Conducting monthly internal audits to ensure accuracy of financial records, proper documentation of transactions, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Reviewing all account reconciliations, verifying supporting documentation, and identifying any discrepancies or irregularities. Ensuring audit trails are maintained and all financial activities are properly documented for external audit purposes.

Expense Monitoring – Monitoring company expenses across all departments and cost centers, tracking budget adherence, and identifying variances from planned expenditures. Supporting cost-control initiatives by analyzing spending patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing recommendations to management. Preparing expense reports and variance analysis to help management understand spending trends and control costs effectively.

Bank Reconciliation – Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure all banking transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system. Identifying and investigating reconciling items, outstanding checks, and deposits in transit. Maintaining relationships with banks and handling banking-related documentation and correspondence.

Educational Background – A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory for this position. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA will be considered advantageous and demonstrate commitment to the accounting profession.

UAE Experience Required – Minimum 2 years of accounting experience specifically in the UAE is essential. Understanding of UAE business environment, local accounting practices, and regulatory requirements including VAT, corporate tax considerations, and compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations. Experience in the retail industry is preferred as it provides familiarity with inventory management, POS systems, and retail-specific accounting challenges.

Technical Knowledge – Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (IFRS), auditing procedures, and UAE VAT regulations is required. Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, financial statement preparation, and month-end closing procedures. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to management.

Software Proficiency – Proficiency in Zoho Books or Zoho accounting software is essential as this is the primary accounting system used by the company. Experience with retail Point of Sale (POS) systems and their integration with accounting software. Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis capabilities for financial reporting and analysis purposes.
