Role Overview – UHY is hiring ACCA Interns and Audit Interns. This opportunity is ideal for ACCA students or recent pass-outs who need professional experience to learn the intricacies of audit including External Audit, Internal Audit, and Taxation in a professional accounting firm environment.

External Audit Experience – You will gain hands-on experience in external audit by participating in audit engagements, reviewing financial statements, testing transactions, verifying account balances, performing substantive procedures, and learning how external auditors assess financial statement accuracy and compliance.

Internal Audit Exposure – You will gain exposure to internal audit by supporting internal audit assignments, testing internal controls, evaluating processes, identifying control weaknesses, and understanding how internal auditors help organizations improve governance, risk management, and operational effectiveness.

Taxation Learning – You will learn taxation by assisting with tax compliance work, preparing tax computations, supporting VAT filings, understanding UAE tax regulations, and gaining practical knowledge of corporate taxation, VAT, and tax advisory services.

Financial Statement Analysis – You will analyze financial statements, understand accounting standards, review account classifications, verify disclosures, and develop the ability to read and interpret financial information critically as auditors do.

Audit Procedures and Techniques – You will learn audit procedures and techniques including sampling, analytical procedures, confirmation processes, vouching, reconciliation methods, and the systematic approaches auditors use to gather sufficient appropriate evidence.

Working Papers and Documentation – You will prepare audit working papers, document audit procedures performed, record findings, organize evidence, and learn the importance of thorough documentation in professional audit practice.

Client Interaction – You will gain experience interacting with clients by requesting information, attending meetings, coordinating document collection, and understanding professional client service in audit contexts.

Professional Development – You will develop professional skills including technical accounting knowledge, analytical abilities, attention to detail, time management, teamwork, and understanding of professional ethics that support your ACCA qualification and future accounting career.

ACCA Student or Pass-Out – This position is for ACCA students currently pursuing the qualification or recent ACCA pass-outs. Your ACCA studies provide the theoretical foundation that will be complemented by practical audit experience.

Learning Mindset – A strong desire to learn the intricacies of audit is essential. You should be eager to gain professional experience, curious about audit processes, willing to ask questions, and committed to developing expertise in external audit, internal audit, and taxation.

Academic Knowledge – Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit concepts from your ACCA studies provides the foundation for applying theoretical knowledge in practical audit situations.
